FRK01 - Forklift Safety Class 1-6
This full day course is for people with little or no operational experience and who would like to obtain the minimum required level of knowledge/skill needed to safely operate a class 1-6 forklift. Included will be a demonstration and hands on training portion. This will be followed by a proficiency demonstration and an Operator Performance Evaluation. A 3 year Grande Prairie Regional College Certificate will be awarded upon successful completion. Covered in this course: Basic Principles Fork Truck Classifications Pre-use Inspection Refuelling of forklifts Safe Operating Practices Occupational Health and Safety Regulations Summary/Written Review Practical Training/Demonstration Students must be at least 18 years of age to attend this course. Required: Valid Government Driver's License or Alberta Llearner's Permit, or a valid class 5 o ut of province License, steel toed boots, Coveralls or wear a long-sleeved shirt and long pants to the training. The use of coveralls, or long sleeves and long pants, during training is recommended.
