Am I a Credit Student or a Continuing Education Student?
Credit Courses are courses taken at NWP that work towards a Certificate, Diploma or University Transfer program.
This will also include Academic Upgrading, Transitional Vocational, Apprenticeship and Pre-Employment programs. The individual courses have a CREDIT attached to them. ex. PY1040 (3 credits)
Continuing Education Classes are classes that are designed for Work and Community.
This means that they DO NOT work towards a NWP program in the Certificate, Diploma or University Transfer programs. ex. H2S01

What's the difference between my myNWP account and my On-Campus Computer/myClass/Email account?
Your myNWP account is used to access your timetables, grades, admissions and financial information. This is also where you will register in courses for most programs. You will get access to your myNWP account
as soon as your application is processed. Your myNWP account does not expire and remains active even after you are no longer a student at NWP.
While you're registered in an active course, you will be given a second account to access the On-Campus Computer/myClass/Email account. Access to these services expire when your courses are finished.
Be aware that you will have 2 logins for NWP. These are both different.
One for email & myClass:
- Username: 50*****@nwpolytech.ca
- Password: Birthdate in this format yyyyMmmdd (example: 1954Jun03) and can be changed.
One for myNWP and the mobile app
- Username: 50*****
- Password: Your set password. (initially would have been emailed to you)
To change passwords or set them to be the same, see How do I change my password FAQ.
How do I access my On-Campus Computer/myClass/Email account?
These accounts only exist during active course registrations. For continuing students, your On-Campus Computer Lab/myClass/Email account will NOT be deactivated
as you move from one academic year to the next. For new students, your accounts will be created at the end of August. After Sept 1st, accounts will be created within 24 hours of registration.
You can see the status of your account here. You'll need to be logged into your myNWP first. If your account is active, you can also reset your password from that page.
When your account is first created, the default password will be your birthdate in the format yyyyMmmdd (i.e. 1996Sep07). You should change this password as soon as possible, and you can do that here.
You'll need to be logged in to myNWP to access information about either of your accounts.
