SW2120/Lecture/A3 - Addictions & Mental Health | Credits 3.00
This introduction to mental health, trauma, and addictions from a social work perspective explores the intersectional factors which affect mental health. Students will examine related theories and competencies in case management and intervention as well as the history, definitions, common disorders, cultural issues, treatment approaches, and legislation and policy relating to mental health. Students will also be encouraged to explore their own values and experiences relating to mental health and addictions. Note: Available to Social Work Diploma Students only Prerequisites: SW1000 (minimum grade of C (GPA 2.0)) Transfer: Refer to Transfer Alberta for most up to date information.
